Lubricants and Lotions

December 17th, 2009 by Admin | No Comments | Filed in Lubes / Lubricants FAQ
Intimate asked:

Lubricants are a great way to make intercourse easier and more fun. Lubricants can be applied to the vagina lips, the clitoris, or the anus for sexual entry. They are also helpful for private masturbation. There are a wide variety of brands that will serve many different purposes. Most lubricants serve basic needs, but others invite more pleasure and fun with tingling and heat sensations. It is important to know the reasons you will be using the lube before you buy just any product. The different ingredients, textures, colors, flavors, and extra perks all have their advantages and disadvantages. Make sure to pick the right product for your needs, and keep trying brands until you’ve found the perfect lubricant.

Petroleum-based and oil-based are the most common lubricants. These however, are best for sexual play without condoms as they can destroy latex. Some women are allergic to petroleum or certain oils and may experience irritation upon use. For this reason, other types of lubes were created. Water-based lubricants are safer for all skin types and latex condoms. They also do not stain fabric or furniture, as petroleum and oils can. They can be flavored or not, and taste mildly sweet. Silicone-based lubricants are as versatile as water-based lubes but they have many advantages: these lubes are waterproof and last longer than other types of lubes. This opens a new world of fun for the couple. Each of these lubricants are great for different purposes. Silicone-based lubes are more expensive but can hold up with those long nights in bed. Petroleum is not recommended for use with condoms, but this type of lube is the most comfortable for anal play. Water-based lubes are cheaper, easiest to clean, and work best with sex toys.

Lubricants and lotions offer many exciting new perks. Certain creams can excite the sex organs, such as the China Brush Spray, which is simply sprayed onto the head of the penis before intercourse. The Like a Virgin Tighten Up Kit and the China Shrink Cream both tighten the vaginal walls, increasing sexual pleasure for both partners. The Hooch Massage lotions come in a variety of different flavors and comes warm out of the bottle. Many lotions can make anal play easier and more comfortable for the receiver. Creams like Anal Eaze actually desensitize the area prior to intercourse, but the man should use a condom when using this cream to prevent him from also becoming desensitized. Many lotions will increase the pleasure power of the clitoris. Just a small drop of these lotions will go a long way.

Lubricants are best used on anything that will touch the sensitive skin on either partner’s sex organs. They are not just for getting the vagina wet anymore. Now lubricants have practically become a new type of sex toy. They offer exciting sexual pleasure aids and textures that will send both partners through the roof. Lubricants are a cost-effective way to increase sexual pleasure.

All the Great Things about Silicone Personal Lube

December 13th, 2009 by Admin | No Comments | Filed in Lubes / Lubricants FAQ
Phoenix Delray asked:

With all of the different kinds of personal lube for men and women to choose from, the more you find out about the various lubes, the less you may find you really know. Personal lube is a topic that sometimes raises more questions than answers. In general there are four different kinds of personal lube. There are water based lubes, good for vaginal penetration, oil based lubes, great for men who need lubricant for masturbating, silicone based lubes, which are good for sex without silicone toys being used, and then a lube that is a water and silicone base mixed together. The best general use lubricant is probably the silicone based personal lube. Even though all of the types of lube have pros and cons, silicone based lube seems to have the best balance between the two.

The silicone based personal lubes have a thick, smooth, lush consistency to them, which many people really enjoy. They last longer than water based lubes because of this, and do not need to be reapplied nearly as often as water based ones. Usually, a higher end silicone lube feels silky and smooth to both partners. Silicone personal lube is more expensive than water lubes, however, but you dont need to use nearly as much. A really good silicone lube ideally should not contain parabens or glycerin, which can cause infections and mess with the ph of the vagina.

Commonly, people who are used to using water based lube may find that it takes them a while to get used to the silicone ones. Or, they may not ever really like them at all. Although many silicone personal lubes have a pleasant or neutral odor, some do have a chemical like smell and a distinct, bad taste. A commonly complained about drawback is that silicone personal lubes are difficult to wash off of the skin, usually requiring a couple of washings with soap. Unfortunately, silicone lubricants have a tendency to stain sheets and comforters, so strip the bed before you lube up!

Some bonus uses for a good silicone personal lube is that they are great for massages for people who dont like getting all oiled up to get a good rub down. Also, silicone personal lube can be used as a great skin moisturizer. With all of these good qualities comes a bad one, though. If you use adult toys that are made of silicone, the silicone lubes can damage them, so keep them separated! Most silicone personal lubes are condom friendly, so suit up and use the silicone personal lube, already!

Shopping for Bedroom Toys Without the Embarrassment

December 12th, 2009 by Admin | No Comments | Filed in Sex Toys General FAQ
Kim Fidi asked:

Shopping for your bedroom toys can be a difficult task for some people. The discomfort of going into a brick and mortar store to shop for your sex toys is quite understandable. There are so many different products on the market, so the last thing you need is to feel rushed in making your purchase because of your embarrassment. As an owner of a well known web site that provides Adult Toys, we can offer certain tips to make sure that your shopping experience is non intimidating, informative, and discreet so you will feel at ease with making future purchases.

Purchase your bedroom toys from an Online Retailer – Buying your bedroom toys from a web site will provide a more comfortable shopping atmosphere since you are doing it from the comfort of your own home. There are web sites such as ours that pride themselves on easy product navigation, so you can search under specific categories such as Vibrators, Dildos, Toys for him, Toys for Couples, etc. Going even further, most shopping sites will also have subcategories so you can certain for a specific type of vibrator such as Discreet Vibrators, Powerful Vibrators, Traditional Vibrators, etc.

Look for a Buying Guide Section and Customer Reviews Section– Most reputable adult toy web sites understand that making this type of purchase can be a difficult process. Our web site offers a Vibrator Buying Guide that provides detailed information on the many types of vibrators that are specific to certain areas of stimulation. The Buying Guide also contains product recommendations that will aid the customer in their search. The Customer Reviews Section is always a helpful shopping tool to help you learn what other customers like you are saying about the product. However, if you notice that all the products on the site seem to be getting top ratings, use your discretion. This could be a ploy for the site to just use this section as a selling tool. Our web site actually offers honest customer reviews. We actually have a separate section on our web site that displays our Highest Rated Products as well as Our Lowest Rating Products.

Make Sure the Web Site is Trustworthy – Check to see if the web site has certain certifications such as BizRate Customer Certified, which allows you to see customer feedback as well as the overall web site rating. Some web sites also have Hacker Safe and VeriSign logos, which ensure that the site uses these services to keep your information secure.

Keep Your Billing and Shipping Information Private – Make sure that the web site states that they will keep your billing and shipping discreet. For example, when our customers order from us, our corporate name, Go Live appears on the billing statement as well as on the shipping label. This is also important especially if there are children in the household. In addition, look to see if the web site also has a statement regarding sending out unsolicited mail. Many customers do not wish to receive catalogs or be placed on any mailing lists. If the company does send out newsletter emails or printed catalogs, you should be given the choice to receive this material or not.

Shop With a Site That Has a Customer Service Phone Number – Some web sites only offer a customer service email, as opposed to a phone number. Only shop at a web site that offers a working customer service phone number. This is important in case you have product questions, returns, or need information on your shipment.

Overall, make sure that ordering and shipping procedures are clearly stated on the web site. In addition, please make sure you thoroughly read the return policy, especially due to the nature of the products being purchased. Using the above shopping tips will to simplify and ease your sex toy shopping experience.

Why would anyone think it’s okay to ban sex toys?

December 1st, 2009 by Admin | 7 Comments | Filed in Sex Toys General FAQ
mathaowny asked:

Some states such as Alabama are keeping bans on sex toys going.

Shouldn’t the government be spending our taxes on something more pressing than the nine-year fight over the personal gratifiction of adults? That, and shouldn’t they leave us alone in our own homes and bedrooms to do as we please? Are we, as adults, unable to decide what is and what isn’t healthy for our own well-being?

http://blog.wired.com/sex/2007/02/best_quote_abou.html

(I just had to ask this one, it seemed like too odd a story to pass up…I’m not trying to offend anyone, but I am amazed that this should even be an issue nowadays!)
Sidenote: I don’t use them either.

However, I think it wrong to use our taxes in making laws that punish individuals for their own personal preferences. It’s punishing a consenting adult for…being a consenting adult. It would be like spending thousands $$$ and years on trying to ban a certain kind of socks because someone somewhere doesn’t like them.

And in South Carolina: “Republican Rep. Ralph Davenport proposed a bill that would make it a felony to sell ‘devices used primarily for sexual stimulation’ and allow the cops to confiscate sex toys from raided businesses.”

So it is a ban on vibrators and all other sex toys. I can’t believe they’re wasting our taxes on these laws insttead of, say, regulating guns?
Aussie, sounds like you prefer laws to regulate your personal life? What if someone made a law that caused condoms to be illegal? Then what?

A Good Butt Lube is a Good Idea

November 5th, 2009 by Admin | No Comments | Filed in Lubes / Lubricants FAQ
Phoenix Delray asked:

If you have ever tried inserting something into the anal canal without a good butt lube, you have undoubtedly found that it is not comfortable or pleasurable in the slightest, not to mention that it isnt easy, either. A good butt lube is one of the most popular enhancers for sexual arousal and stimulation when it comes to anal sex. Since the anus cannot lubricate itself, butt lube is the key to making anal sex more pleasurable. Without anal lube being applied on, around, and in the rectum and anus, things start rubbing and chapping and chaffing, and ouch.

Although there are many different types of butt lube available, many people prefer to use the silicone based butt lube. Water based butt lube is most often non irritating, and there are no chemicals to break down the latex in condoms. However, water based butt lube can contain ingredients that can contribute to yeast infections, so watch where you put that stuff. Water based butt lube also dries up more quickly than the other types of butt lube.

Another type of butt lube is the oil based lube. This butt lube is not recommended for use with condoms and sex toys. The butt lube could also potentially ruin your fave latex and rubber toys, so just remember that oil butt lube and toys just dont play nice. Oil lubes are also not a very popular choice because the oil can coat the rectum and potentially lead to a bacterial infection at the area.

A silicone based lube is a newer kind of butt lube. Silicone butt lubes are safe to use with condoms and latex products, so your sex toys that are not made of silicone will stay safe. Use caution, though, if you have toys that are made of silicone. The butt lube could cause breakdown damage to your special toys. Silicone based lubes also last longer than water based lubes, not drying out nearly as quickly. However, the lube can be hard to wash off, and can still irritate the anus if it is left there for too long.

Almost any drug store or retail owner usually carries different types of butt lube. Feel free to experiment with the different kinds of lube available to find which one for your anal activities is best. It is a good idea, too, to test the butt lube on your skin to test for an allergic reaction to it or oversensitivity.

And, one final word of caution, lube lovers: Make sure your partner knows that anything that has been in or near the anus, whether it is his penis or your vibrator, can NOT go into your vagina until it has been washed very well. Many people develop bad infections after something went from the anus to the vagina, depositing plenty of germs there that dont belong. So keeping these things in mind, when you are ready to venture into the world of butt lube, you at least have a good start on deciding which one to try first.

How to Clean and Care for Your Sex Toys

November 1st, 2009 by Admin | No Comments | Filed in Lubes / Lubricants FAQ
bella asked:

Be kind to your sex toys, and in turn your sex toys will be kind to you. Here are a few suggestions from our team at naughtys4you.co.uk on how best to clean and care for your sex toys

Silicone Sex Toys.. sex toys made from silcone are made with non-porous surfaces, which means that it can be cleaned with not too much effort, so in most cases a little soap and water to clean them is more than sufficient. For using them for both Vaginal and Anal use, or for sharing toys, silicone can be boiled safetly and three to five minutes of boiling will kill any germs.

Make sure that you DO NOT use ane silicone-based lubes on your silicone toys, as it will cause a reaction with your toy, please use water-based lubes only.

Glass Toys.. You can clean Glass toys with very little effort with a little soap and water, do not boil or expose them to extreme temperatures.

Crystal Sex Toys.. Can be cleaned with warm water and soap and dried off with a clean dry cloth or towel.

Stainless Steel Toys.. Stainless steel sex toys can be boiled or washed in the dishwasher, or soaked in a water/bleach solution.

Jelly Rubber Toys.. Jelly/Rubber toys (the most common dildo) are porous materials and won’t ever be 100% disinfected, so should never be used from Anal to Vaginal or vice versa or shared, unless always using a condom. To clean Jelly/Rubber toys, you can wipe them down with a little soap and some warm water.

CyberSkin Toys.. is again a very porous material and like the Jelly/Rubber toys above, shouldn’t be crossed over from Vaginal to Anal use or shared without always using a condom. It is also a very delicate material so please use care and caution while cleaning them. We recommend cleaning with very little soap and warm water and storing them in a plastic bag to protect them from getting sticky.

Soft Vinyl Toys.. Are very flexible and have a smooth surface that is very easy to clean. You can clean them by wiping them down with a soapy cloth and some warm water.

Hard Plastic Toys.. Very easy to clean, just wipe them down with some soap and warm water.

Acrylic Toys.. Again same as above, wash them with a little soap and warm water.

Last but not least, remove any batteries from your sex toys when they are not in use, for a longer toy and battery life.

Bella. x

Personal Lubricants, Which Ones for Me?

October 11th, 2009 by Admin | No Comments | Filed in Lubes / Lubricants FAQ
Phoenix Delray asked:

The sale of personal lubricants continues to grow as suppliers produce lubes that fit into everyones lifestyle.

For a long time, personal lubricants were marketed in a very clinical way basically to aid in the prevention of vaginal dryness caused by menopause. Studies show that least 95% of women are said to have used personal lubricant at some point in their lives. As personal lubricant companies increasingly create products that are fun, innovative and easy to use, more and more women explore what is available to them. What they find are products that focus on pleasure enhancement as well as utility.

Several personal lubricant companies now offer scented and/or warming massage oils, sensitizing lubricants, and flavored lubricants to up the ante between the sheets. There are also several companies who address the concern of the mess that personal lubricants sometimes create by using ingredients that are easier for clean up, colorless and/or soluble.

What can you expect to find when you are shopping for lube? A lot of different brands, ingredients, flavors, etc. How do you choose which one is right for you? First of all, you are going to want to avoid using products that are oil based if you are planning on using condoms for intercourse. Oil can create large tears in your condoms, no longer preventing you from STDs and/or pregnancy. If you are on the safer path, you may also want to avoid products that contain colors and flavors these products sometimes create irritation for sensitive skin. Water based lubes may be a good choice, especially for beginners. You will find that water based lubricants are lighter and easily cleaned up, but may not last as long as silicone based lubricants.

Silicone based lubricants have lasting power that will be sure to carry you through an all night sex fest. You may also want to look into silicone based lubricants for use with sex toys as they wont dry out and will not compromise the safety of your toys. Where can you buy lube? There are numerous websites that cater to the personal lubricant market. You can also find a few kinds of lubricant at your local drugstore and a wide variety at your local sex shop.

Whether you are using lubricants for masturbation or with a partner, you will find that there is something available to fill your each and every desire. You may need to try several different products before settling on the one that tickles your fancy.
