Why would anyone think it’s okay to ban sex toys?

December 1st, 2009 by Admin | 7 Comments | Filed in Sex Toys General FAQ
mathaowny asked:

Some states such as Alabama are keeping bans on sex toys going.

Shouldn’t the government be spending our taxes on something more pressing than the nine-year fight over the personal gratifiction of adults? That, and shouldn’t they leave us alone in our own homes and bedrooms to do as we please? Are we, as adults, unable to decide what is and what isn’t healthy for our own well-being?

http://blog.wired.com/sex/2007/02/best_quote_abou.html

(I just had to ask this one, it seemed like too odd a story to pass up…I’m not trying to offend anyone, but I am amazed that this should even be an issue nowadays!)
Sidenote: I don’t use them either.

However, I think it wrong to use our taxes in making laws that punish individuals for their own personal preferences. It’s punishing a consenting adult for…being a consenting adult. It would be like spending thousands $$$ and years on trying to ban a certain kind of socks because someone somewhere doesn’t like them.

And in South Carolina: “Republican Rep. Ralph Davenport proposed a bill that would make it a felony to sell ‘devices used primarily for sexual stimulation’ and allow the cops to confiscate sex toys from raided businesses.”

So it is a ban on vibrators and all other sex toys. I can’t believe they’re wasting our taxes on these laws insttead of, say, regulating guns?
Aussie, sounds like you prefer laws to regulate your personal life? What if someone made a law that caused condoms to be illegal? Then what?

What You Need to Know About Personal Lubricants

October 22nd, 2009 by Admin | No Comments | Filed in Lubes / Lubricants FAQ
Phoenix Delray asked:

When it comes to the wonderful world of personal lubricants, there are some things that you should know. First of all, not all personal lubricants are created equal. Next, the most expensive personal lubricants are not always the highest quality ones, so to only buy the costly versions of stuff you can get at the Dollar Store is just a waste of money.

First of all, you need to be aware of the ingredients that are in various personal lubricants, as there are some that you should always stray from. Many popular water based personal lubricants have glycerin in them, which can promote yeast growth and lead to infections. Astroglide is one of the few popular brands that has come out with a glycerin and paraben free concoction that works as good as the original, minus the yeast promoting characteristics.

Personal lubricants with an oil base should also be avoided, for several reasons. A main one is that the oil in them will break down latex products, meaning that everything from condoms to latex gloves used in bedroom play will have an increased chance of breaking. Oil based personal lubricants can also leave a thin coating on the rectum or vagina that will irritate the skin over time, leading to an increased risk of infection and sexually transmitted disease.

Instead, the best personal lubricants to use have either a water or silicone base. Water based lubricants, like KY Jelly, do not have any kinds of weird reactions with the body or sex toys. Although these water based personal lubricants tend to be absorbed by the skin fairly quickly, the residue that is left over can quickly be rejuvenated with a little bit of spit or water. Because saliva is not the most sanitary substance, it is recommended that you rejuvenate your water based personal lubricants with a bit of water.

Personal lubricants with a silicone base have been steadily gaining popularity, as they are about as affordable as their water based counterparts, but have a much longer life in the bedroom. Unlike personal lubricants like KY Jelly, personal lubricants with a silicone base do not get absorbed into the skin very quickly, so they last for quite a while.

With all personal lubricants, it is important that you rub a small amount in an inconspicuous place to ensure that you are not allergic. Once you are confident you arent allergic, let the fun start!

Use Different Sex Lubricants for Different Sexual Acts

September 29th, 2009 by Admin | No Comments | Filed in Lubes / Lubricants FAQ
Phoenix Delray asked:

The topic of sex lubricants has become a complicated topic nowadays. There are tips and pointers and how to articles smeared all over the internet, and the information on what lubricant is safe to use when can seem overwhelming and confusing. There are four categories of sexual acts (that will be covered here) and four different sex lubricants to get the job done right.

Starting with men needing some slick help when masturbating, the best lubrication to use would be the oil based lubricants. They last longer than water based lube, and are easier to wash off than silicone based lube. Oil based lubricants are not good, however, for sexual intercourse involving condoms or sex toys. The oils will dissolve both, as well as most other kinds of birth control.

Next we come to oral sex. When the woman is the one pleasing and teasing, flavored sex lubricants are the only way to go. The variety of flavors is bountiful. Be careful, though. Keep in mind that the flavored ones are manufactured with glycerin and sugar. The sugar in the lube, if it gets in the vagina, wreaks havoc with the ph, and more than likely will cause infections. The glycerin can do the same thing, so remember that the flavored sex lubricants are for external use only.

Speaking of the vagina, the best lubricants for vaginal penetration are usually the silicone based ones. They are thicker than the water based lubes, so they last longer before drying up. A word of warning does come with silicone based lubes, however. The silicone will damage any silicone toys you may have, so if you are going to be using adult novelties made of silicone, stay away from silicone based lubricant.

The last area to be covered is anal sex. Since the anus and rectum do not produce their own natural lubrication, having it supplied to perform anal sex is an absolute must. If you have ever tried having anal sex without lubricant, you know that it is tight, it hurts, and is extremely uncomfortable. Remember not to use the external use only flavored lubes. Water soluble lubricant is ok, just keep the bottle nearby, because although water based lube is cheaper than silicone based ones, it is because of the water that it dries up fairly quickly, so frequent reapplying is required.

So how do you know which ones are oil based, water based, and silicone based? Look at the ingredients on the back. The very first ingredient will tell you which category it falls under. If the first ingredient is water and the second is anything ending in cone, yes, there is silicone in it, but since the first ingredient is water, it is a water based lube.

Keeping these rules and tips in mind when shopping for the lubricant, you will soon discover that if finances allow, the best choice for sex lubricants is a wide variety of them.

Choosing the Right Lube for Vaginal Intercourse

September 2nd, 2009 by Admin | No Comments | Filed in Lubes / Lubricants FAQ
Phoenix Delray asked:

Great vaginal intercourse demands a great lubricant. There are so many lubes to choose from, and picking out the right one is important. It can make the difference between good sex and great sex.

Lubricants come in generally three forms, oil based, water based, and silicone based. Oil based lubricants are not recommended for vaginal intercourse for a couple of reasons. Oil lubes should not be used with condoms, diaphragms and other inserted birth control, or with sex toys. Oil lubricants can break down latex and plastics. Oil based lubes are also a poor choice for vaginal intercourse because the oil can coat the vagina and lead to a bacterial infection.

Silicone based lubricants are generally ok for vaginal intercourse. These lubes should not be used with sex toys that are made with silicone, though; they will compromise and break them down. One of the only issues with a silicone based lubricant is that sometimes these lubes are difficult to wash off, so after having vaginal intercourse with a silicone lube, make sure that you do use soap and water to completely get rid of it. Silicone lube that remains on the vagina too long can cause irritation, and can coat the vagina, leading to bacterial infection.

Water based lubricants are the most popular lubes for vaginal intercourse. As long as they do not contain sugars or glycerin, they are great. Many products that are water based have no odor, and if there is a taste to them (if they are not flavored like strawberry) the taste is pleasant. Water based lubricants are very close to the natural lubricant produced by the vagina, and will wash off easily, reducing the risk for any infection. Vaginal Intercourse will be enhanced greatly with a good water based lubricant, and water based lubes are generally cheaper than the other two types.

Water lubricants are 100% safe to use with condoms and other birth control methods, which is one of the main reasons why they are so popular. They will not compromise the strength of the condom. A good vaginal intercourse lube should be non toxic, hypo allergenic, and should be manufactured without chemicals or preservatives.

Water based lubricants are safe for you to use every day, and they should have been tested for safety and allergy tested as well. Water lubes also are great for vaginal intercourse (or any other type of intercourse) because they wont stain fabrics and will wash out of your bed sheets easily.

Anal Lubricants Make Good Sex Great

August 19th, 2009 by Admin | No Comments | Filed in Lubes / Lubricants FAQ
Phoenix Delray asked:

Using anal lubricants during anal play, anal masturbation, and anal sex is not only recommended, it is strongly suggested! The anal lubricants today come in many different textures, consistencies, and varieties. There are so many different types of anal lube, in fact, that it can sometimes be very difficult knowing which lubricants are right for which sexual activity. Here is a quick breakdown of the nitty gritty of anal lubricants.

There are many types of anal lubricants that you may want to experiment with and have fun with. Some of them are safe with all anal sex, some are safe with only certain kinds of sex toys, and some anal lubricants you should stay away from altogether.

Water based lube is the most common and safest of the anal lubricants. It is very natural because of the water, and is also popular since many people find it to be non irritating. Another bonus for water based sex lubes is that there are no chemicals to break down latex, which is good news for condom wearers. One word of caution, though, about the water based lubes, is that some people find that water based lubes made with glycerin or sugar can cause an infection. Unfortunately, it is usually the flavored sex lubes that contain the sugar and glycerin, so be careful it is the flavored lubes that are NOT for use in the anus, unless they are sugar free.

Oil based personal lubes are not recommended for use with condoms, diaphragms, and sex toys. Oil based lubricants can break down latex and some plastics, so stay away from oil based lubes if you are using these birth control methods or even if you are not sure if it would be safe or not. Oil based lubricants should be avoided all together for anal sex, so unless you are using your hand only to masturbate, dont use it. Oil lubes are also frowned upon because the oil can coat the rectum and lead to a bacterial infection at the area.

Silicone based anal lubricants are a newer kind of lube. They are safe to use with condoms and latex products, so your sex toys will stay safe when used with the silicone anal lube, for the most part. Use caution, though, if you have toys that are made of silicone. The lube could cause breakdown damage to your special toys. Silicone based ones also last longer than water based lubes, not drying out nearly as quickly. However, the lube can be hard to wash off, and can still irritate the anus if it is left there for too long.

Many drug stores and retail stores carry anal lubricants. Feel free to experiment with the different kinds of lube available to find which one for which activity is best. It is a good idea, too, to test the anal lubricant on your skin to test for an allergic reaction to it or oversensitivity.

The role of water based lubricant are very important, it make the event run so smooth. When a woman is ready to make, she will be secrete natural lubricant. However, sometimes due to psychological reasons or age, the amount of lubricant produced is not sufficient. Vagina felt dry and consequently make event painful. Therefore, the role of lubrication made important enough.

Lubricants or natural fluid lubricant (originating from the liquid lubrication out when a woman has inflamed) and other synthetic lubricant believed to smooth the way for making love with your partner. Synthetic lubricants are very useful for men and women who are having sex.

Men recommended use oil based lubricant with oil basic materials, water, or Silicon. Women suggested encourage using water based lubricant. Water can avoid vagina from infection. Please do not use oil and liquid lubricants excessively and even better if these fluid lubricants only thin lubricated.

However, in line with the increasing science and technology, liquid lubricant function grow. Now it has new function that can be important considered, when people have a risk from different type sexually virus, as we already know of them: syphilis, Sexual diseases (STD), and even more danger, that is AIDS and another sexually diseases.

A Great Anal Spray Does More Than Just Lubricate

August 10th, 2009 by Admin | No Comments | Filed in Lubes / Lubricants FAQ
Phoenix Delray asked:

Anytime that anal sex takes place, a good anal spray should be used. The anus cannot lubricate on its own, so we have to rely on anal lubricants and sprays to make the experience of anal sex comfortable and pleasurable. There is a wide variety of anal lubricants and anal sprays on the market, and it may be difficult to choose one. For some people, anal sex is enjoyable and arousing, but a concern about viruses and bacteria may constrict their willingness to participate in anal sex as often as they might like to. An anal spray that can kill those viruses and bacteria would be just what is needed.

Anal spray that can cleanse the skin and disinfect toys and novelties is the perfect solution to concerns about cleanliness with sex, anal or otherwise. A high end anal spray should be anti viral, anti fungal, and anti bacterial. It should be safe to use on any and all skin types, and should be hypoallergenic. Some of the better anal sprays can also be used on even sensitive or irritated skin, which can help cure and soothe the skin. Anal spray that is safe for use with condoms, latex materials, rubber and silicone is beneficial as well.

Using anal spray that can disinfect can help decrease the risk of illness and infection that can result from intimate contact with unsanitary toys and/or intimate body parts. Make sure that the anal spray that you decide to use has been tested by dermatologists, and that it is alcohol free. Alcohol not only dries out the skin, it can be an irritant and also break down materials like condoms. Many people enjoy using an anal lube that is soft to the touch, silky, and smooth, but never chunky or sticky, so make sure you pay attention to the texture of the anal lube that you try, because texture can vary a great deal from one anal spray to another.

Many people also prefer an anal spray that is odorless and tasteless. No one enjoys trying to have anal sex with an anal lube that has an overpowering or chemical like smell. An anal spray that makes both partners feel as close to being as natural as possible is a good anal spray. The last thing that you want to have your mind on during anal sex is the smell or feel of the anal spray. You want to have your partner on your mind!

Fungi, bacteria, and viruses can cause serious infections, either externally or internally, that can cause potentially serious illness. The best way to prevent these infections is to stop them at the source, which is why anal spray needs to be one of the accessories that you will never have anal sex without again.

Where Does Sex Lube Come From?

July 21st, 2009 by Admin | No Comments | Filed in Lubes / Lubricants FAQ
Phoenix Delray asked:

The origination of sex lube comes from the lubricant that surgeons used to use to assist during medical procedures. Today, we use personal lubricants for sexual practices and to make them much more comfortable and enjoyable. Sex lube is a specialized lubricant that works to reduce friction with the vagina, penis and anus. There are so many types of sex lubes, but some popular ones are: KY Jelly, Astroglide, EROS, Durex PLAY, Sliquid, Ready lube and Analeaze. Each type of lube provides a different service so be sure to think about what you want and need before purchasing something you know nothing about.

The different types of sex lube include: water based, silicone based, oil based, J lube, plant based oils and specialty lubricants. Water based sex lube is by far the most popular and best selling one on the market right now. It is the easiest to clean up after having intercourse and it does not affect the latex in the condom. Although condoms are waterproof, elastic and very durable, they can be easily damaged if you use a sex lube that is incompatible. Oil based and silicone based lubricants do not react well with the latex that is in condoms, so when you combine them you run the risk of being exposed to sexually transmitted diseases as well as pregnancy.

J lube is the most inexpensive of all personal lubricants and is not used as a sex lube as often as some of the others. It is most commonly used as a veterinary lubricant, but some people do use it as a sexual lube. Typically, it is purchased in a powder consistency that is made up of polyethylene oxide and sucrose. When this powder is mixed with water it produces a very slippery lubricant.

Surprisingly, many people choose to use plant based oils as personal lubricants for their sexual needs. This can include things like vegetable oil, coconut oil, olive oil, vegetable shortening or Crisco. Some prefer Crisco over any other one though because it is completely odorless.

Specialty lubricants qualify as anything that causes a physiological or physical change to the area that it is applied to. An example of this is a warming lubricant which causes a heating sensation to the applied area. Some popular brands for this type of sex lube are Firefly Natural lubricant; Wet fun flavors, OMy, Sliquid, KY Jelly, and Thermal warming liquid. There are many different types of sex lube to choose from, so take you time and have fun shopping around.

Choosing the Right Personal Lubricant

June 24th, 2009 by Admin | No Comments | Filed in Lubes / Lubricants FAQ
Kim Fidi asked:

Many customers ask us about personal lubricants, which are best, which are condom safe, which are toy safe, which contain benzocaine, etc… Below is some info to help you find the right personal lubricant. Please Note: All lubes on our website are safe for use with condoms and toys unless otherwise noted. In addition, we do not sell products that contain NonOxynol-9 Spermicide.

Lubricants & Condoms

Lack of good lubrication is the #1 reason for condom failure. Using a good lube can also make your experience with condoms more enjoyable. When shopping for personal lubricants please stay away from any lube that contains oil. Baby Oil, Vaseline, Massage Oils will damage latex products. A quality lube like Astroglide, or Eros Body Glide, has received critical acclaim throughout the media.

Water-based Lubricants

These products are made from a water-soluble base. They are designed to be used with ALL adult toys and are condom safe. These lubes are slippery but may need to be re-applied. Depending on the level of quality, water-based lubes have a tendency to get “Sticky Feeling” and dry out. Our favorite water-based products are Astroglide, Wet Original (A Thicker Product) and the thinner feeling Wet Light. Remember, water-based lubes are not as silky feeling and long lasting as silicone based.

Silicone Based Lubes

Our personal favorites! Silicone ( Wet Platinum | Eros Body Glide ) personal lubricants are unlike any other. They are never sticky, completely condom safe, and can be used in water! Unlike some lubes that begin to feel sticky or slimy, silicone lubes always remain slick and very silky feeling. NOTE : Silicone based lubricants should not be used with sex toys made of Cyberskin, Futurotic, NeoSkin, Silicone or EuroSkin. We get asked constantly. “Which Lube is THE Best?” We find the EROS brand to be “Hands Down” the best lube on the planet. The Eros Light has a very thin water like consistency while the EROS BodyGlide is slightly thicker. And remember, when using the EROS Lubricants, just use one or two drops. They are super concentrated so a little goes a long way!

Lubes with Spermicide

Due to the many reports of the Health Risks associated with NonOxynol-9 Spermicide, we no longer carry these products.

Flavored Lubes

Wet Fun Flavors come in a variety of great flavored styles, from tropical to refreshing. All are condom and toy safe and add an interesting dimension to sex. They are also safe for vaginal use however, they do contain Glycerin so they should be avoided by woman who have any type of sensitivity to Glycerin or those that are prone to frequent yeast infections.

The Importance of Using the Right Anal Lube for You

June 22nd, 2009 by Admin | No Comments | Filed in Lubes / Lubricants FAQ
Phoenix Delray asked:

Anal Lube is a very important factor in enjoying anal sex. Anal lube can mean the difference between dry, uncomfortable sex and slippery, super sensitive great sex. Anal lube is one of the most popular enhancers for sexual arousal and stimulation. Since the anus cannot lubricate itself, anal lube is the key to making anal sex not only more pleasurable, but also more safe. Without anal lube being applied on, around, and in the rectum and anus, things could start tearing and chafing and with broken skin, infections commonly occur.

Water based anal lube is the safest lube for use in anal sex. It is very natural because of the water, and many anal lubes are hypoallergenic and non irritating. Another bonus for water based anal lube is that there are no chemicals to break down latex, so they are safe to use along with condoms. Some of the flavored water based anal lubes contain sugars and/or glycerin, which is thought to increase chances of developing an infection. Just keep in mind that since the anal lube is water based, they will dry out quicker than the other types of lube. Keep the bottle of lube nearby will ensure that when you need more anal lube, you wont have to interrupt your business to go get the bottle for more.

Oil based lubes are not recommended for use with condoms, diaphragms, and sex toys. Oil based lubricants can break down latex and some plastics, so stay away from oil based lubes if you are using these birth control methods or even if you are not sure if it would be safe or not. Oil lubes are also frowned upon because the oil can coat the rectum and lead to a bacterial infection at the area. Oil based lubes are still a favorite among some people, most of whom like them for their slippery feel and long staying power before they dry out.

Silicone based lubes are a newer kind of anal lube, and may be the most popular. They are safe to use with condoms and latex products, so unless your adult novelties are made of silicone, you can use them together. Use caution, though, if you have toys that are made of silicone. The anal lube could cause breakdown damage to your special toys. Silicone based anal lubes also last longer than water based lubes, not drying out nearly as quickly. However, the lube can be hard to wash off, and can still irritate the anus if it is left there for too long. Many people prefer silicone anal lube because it lasts longer than water lube, is safer than oil based anal lube, and the smooth, slippery feel that silicone provides is what a lot of people like best.

Make sure to experiment with the different kinds of anal lube to find which one for anal sex is best for you and your partner. It is a good idea, too, to test the anal lube on your skin to test for an allergic reaction to it or oversensitivity. By keeping these things in mind, and being open minded to the many kinds of anal lube out there, you will ensure that you will find that perfect anal lube that can transform dry, uncomfortable sex into slippery anal sex that feels incredible.

Personal Lubricant

June 19th, 2009 by Admin | No Comments | Filed in Lubes / Lubricants FAQ
Bob asked:

There are some types of lubricants – silicone based, polyethylene glycol based or water based. The advantages of silicone lubricant are absolute neutrality, good lubricating property and low price.

Polyethylene glycol is the substance widely used in cosmetics as the base for cream. It dissolves most types of additions but all of them are too expensive.

Water based lubricants (lubricant wet) are more natural for mucous membrane; it washes off good and comes out easy.

If your skin is too sensitive, use water based lubricant cream. Hold the tube near the bed (under the pillow, on the shelve, etc). Lubricant cream could be very useful if it was chosen in accordance with the type of skin and preference of flavor.

Do not use ordinary daily face cream, oil for kids of any other substance made on the basis of oil of fat. Oil destroys latex and the condom becomes defective. Lubricant creams are exclusively made on water basis. That’s why they are safe and produces to make your life easier and pleasant.

Drugstores offer a lot of condoms with special lubricant. For example spermicidal lubricant or lubes with special virus-killing effect. Lubricant containing nonoxinol 9 could irritate vagina or anus. Besides it, most people do not like its specific smell and taste.

Anesthetic lubricants (containing benzocaine) could help to prolong coitus due to anesthetic local effect which reduces man’s sensitivity.

The kit consisted of a Bend Over Boyfriend strap on kit, porn vids, lubes, condoms and c0*ck rings.

What would you think was going on with him and how would you handle him.

keep in mind, that men have a P spot that when manipulated, gives him an intense O. So anal does not mean gay.

Curious Jeorge asked:

If you would not think something gay men and / or sex, stop reading now and please don 't comment on ¿Saying that, could anyone recommend a good lube for anal sex safe? I have now slipped a bottle of identification, but I 've found that some condoms just rebordea up and doesn' t last very long. I assume this is because the grease that comes in a condom isn 'ta base of water (causing a "water in oil" effect), so I expected to find something that will work no matter what. Thanks a lot.
