How common is it for a married couple to have anal sex?

georgia_mommy asked:

I’ve been married for 5 years now. Right after we got married, my hubby started trying to talk me into having anal sex. It terrified me, but on the other hand, I like new experiences, and I love doing stuff that pleases him. So, one day, we tried it. He wore a condom, and we used tons of lube. We worked on getting it in for about an hour. It finally happened and he got off. I was sore for about a day, but it wasn’t unbearable. It also wasn’t something I really wanted to do again. Well, over the past 5 years, we’ve done it a few times here and there. Not much lately though. For about 2 weeks he’s been asking me to try it again. Hesitantly I did a couple of nights ago. I made him use tons of lube and take his time. I also ‘warmed myself up’ (so to speak) at the same time. There was actually no pain involved this time. And no, it’s not stretched out. I think we just finally figured out how to do it right. I don’t plan on doing it often, but I’m a little bit more willing to consider it now
So, my question is- How common is this in STRAIGHT married couples?
And for those of you who are going to say “Your husband is gay”, I don’t really care. I know the truth.

What You Need To Know About Protecting Yourself During Anal Intercourse

November 24th, 2009 by Admin | No Comments | Filed in Lubes / Lubricants FAQ
Phoenix Delray asked:

Anal intercourse can be one of the most fun and pleasurable experiences known to man (and woman!). However, all of the pleasure can turn to pain if you do not protect yourself properly during anal intercourse. From choosing the right lubricants while staying away from the wrong ones to picking the best condom for your penis size, there are lots of different variables that go into a good anal intercourse encounter.

For example, many people do not know that you are not supposed to use oil based lube during anal intercourse, and there are a few reasons why. First and foremost, oil based lubricants can break down latex. That means that the gloves and condoms that you use during anal intercourse will not be as strong as they should be. Plus, the oil can leave a thin film on your skin after anal intercourse. This thin film can lead to irritation and lesions, which can then get infected.

Obviously, you would want to use the best condom possible during anal intercourse. This is because there are a ton of diseases that you can catch during the process of anal intercourse. And this includes HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, syphilis, gonorrhea, herpes, genital warts and a whole lot more. Some of these diseases have no cure available, meaning you will be stuck with them for the rest of your life. Plus, AIDS can even kill you (it has certainly claimed the lives of millions of people already to this day). Those are pretty heavy consequences for one unprotected anal intercourse encounter, so it is really best that you always use protection whenever you engage yourself in some anal action.

Although you cannot get pregnant through anal intercourse, because the risk of disease is so high you should always use condoms. The best condoms to use during anal intercourse are of the latex variety, because they are the strongest and resist tearing the most. To help keep the condoms from breaking during anal intercourse, you should always use a water based or silicone based lubricant. This keeps the latex slippery, where it is unlikely to get caught and rip.

It is also important that you choose the right condom for your anal intercourse needs. If you have an average sized penis, you will not impress anyone by buying magnum sized condoms. Instead, get the right sized condom for your equipment, even if it means choosing a smaller size.

What is the Big Deal with Silicone Lubricant?

October 3rd, 2009 by Admin | No Comments | Filed in Lubes / Lubricants FAQ
Phoenix Delray asked:

Out of all of the hundreds of different types and brands of lubricants available in the market today, silicone lubricant is probably your best option for any kind of action between the sheets. To really get a handle on why silicone lubricant is so much better than its water and oil based counterparts, you have to know the drawbacks of the others.

Lubricants with an oil base, for instance, can have an adverse effect on latex condoms and gloves used during sexual play. As you probably know, a broken condom can have many adverse effects on your life. One of which includes pregnancy. Another is contracting life threatening sexually transmitted diseases. Silicone lubricants, on the other hand, are totally safe for use with all kinds of protection. In fact, silicone lubricants actually reduce the likelihood that the condom will break, as it acts as a buffer between the condom and the skin.

Additionally, lubricants with an oil base can leave a thin film on the skin, which can irritate it and then cause small tears. These tiny lesions can then get infected, inflamed and painful. Silicone lubricants, on the other hand, leave no film on the skin and are easily washed off with just soap and water. Since they are hypoallergenic, silicone lubricants will not irritate the skin at all.

Water based lubricants are another option when it comes to sexual play, but again, they are still no match for silicone lubricants. This is because although water based lubes are safe for use with condoms and latex gloves, they do not last as long as silicone lubricant. In fact, the water based lubes tend to dry out during use, as the skin absorbs the water in them. As a result, what is left is a sticky, tacky mess. Sure, it can be rejuvenated with a little bit of water sprinkled on it, but who has time for that?

Silicone lubricants, however, do not get sticky or evaporate during use. The skin does not readily absorb silicone, so the slickness that you expect out of a decent sex lube lasts a really long time. In fact, you probably will not have to reapply silicone lubricant at all during your sexual encounter. Since a little bit of silicone lubricant will go a long way, you will find that a bottle of it will last a really, really long time. As an added bonus, it will not stain your sheets.

Anal Sex: Things That You Should Know

September 7th, 2009 by Admin | No Comments | Filed in Lubes / Lubricants FAQ
Jerry Leung asked:

Some people love anal sex very much. In fact, most people can have pleasure with anal sex. However, for people who have never tried it before, they may find it painful at the first time they try it. In fact, there are some cautions you should know when you are trying anal sex.

The first thing you need to know is that lubricant is a must when anal sex is concerned. As a matter of fact there are some lubricants which are specially designed for anal sex. You may wonder why lubricant is so important for anal sex. It is because it will be next to impossible to have anal sex without lubricants.

Some people will try to use saliva in order to have anal sex. However, you should never do that. Saliva is never a good kind of lubricant. You should also try to use a condom when you are having anal sex. This will help prevent you from infecting by STDs.

There are some sex toys which are designed for anal sex. However, you have to understand that it can be very scary to use a really big toy if your partner has no experience on anal sex at all.

As a result, you should try to use a small toy if it is the first time for you to have sex toys. Remember, you will still need to use lubricants even if you are using sex toys for anal sex. You may want to use a larger toy once you are accustomed to use a small sex toy for anal sex.

Besides, you should also try to be relaxed when you are having anal sex. As a matter of fact it is very important for you to be relaxed when you are having sex. You will not be able to enjoy the pleasure of sex if you are not really relaxed.

In fact, having anal sex can be full of fun. And one thing you may not know is that you should also try anal sex if you are a man. You can ask your partner to use strap-ons or other kinds of anal sex toys so that she can have anal sex with you. On one hand, it is full of pleasure to have anal sex. On the other hand, you will have a chance to understand how your partner feels when she is having anal sex with you. You will certainly find that your sex experience can be enhanced if you can really do so.

Different Types Of Sex Lube

June 30th, 2009 by Admin | No Comments | Filed in Lubes / Lubricants FAQ
Phoenix Delray asked:

There are so many companies and different types of sex lubes that are currently on the market, so it can be very overwhelming when trying to choose one for your own personal use. Everyone has had the experience of walking into a store and standing in the sex lube aisle, just blankly staring at the shelves of different bottles and not knowing what you are looking for or what the different types mean. Here is a basic lesson on the major types of lube and what they mean.

The first and maybe the most common type is water based sex lube. Typically, this is considered to be the safest of all the lubes. These types of lubricants are water soluble which means that they dissolve in water and make for a very easy clean up process. Water based lube absorbs into the skin and evaporates so they are very low maintenance which is why they are the most widely used of any personal lubricant. Another thing that makes these lubes so popular is that they do not irritate or make the latex dissolve from the condom.

Although these are great, do not overlook the fact that the sugar in these lubes can cause yeast infections in women who are already prone to them. They also make a lot of these types in flavored lubes too. These can be fun, but they are only intended for external use and never to be used in the vagina or anus. One of the only bad things about water based sex lubricants is that they dry quicker than other ones, but with some saliva or a little more water, they can be regenerated rather easily.

The second type of sex lube that you will come across is an oil based formula. One of the most important things to know about this type is that it dissolves latex and as a result lowers the effectiveness of condoms. They are also not water soluble so they are more difficult to clean off the body. Because of these things, oil based lubricants are no longer considered a safe way to practice sex. Since it is so much harder to clean off of your body, it often leaves a residue inside the vagina or anus that can lead to a bacterial infection. Overall, this is not a very safe or effective lubricant to use when having intercourse.

The last type of sex lube is a silicone based product. These are the newest type of lube and have become very popular because they are compatible with any type of condom. Although silicone based sex lubes are somewhat harder to wash off the body, they last much longer than any other type. Regardless of what type of sex lube you decide to use, it is important to know what each one will provide for you and your partner.

Personal Lubricant

June 19th, 2009 by Admin | No Comments | Filed in Lubes / Lubricants FAQ
Bob asked:

There are some types of lubricants – silicone based, polyethylene glycol based or water based. The advantages of silicone lubricant are absolute neutrality, good lubricating property and low price.

Polyethylene glycol is the substance widely used in cosmetics as the base for cream. It dissolves most types of additions but all of them are too expensive.

Water based lubricants (lubricant wet) are more natural for mucous membrane; it washes off good and comes out easy.

If your skin is too sensitive, use water based lubricant cream. Hold the tube near the bed (under the pillow, on the shelve, etc). Lubricant cream could be very useful if it was chosen in accordance with the type of skin and preference of flavor.

Do not use ordinary daily face cream, oil for kids of any other substance made on the basis of oil of fat. Oil destroys latex and the condom becomes defective. Lubricant creams are exclusively made on water basis. That’s why they are safe and produces to make your life easier and pleasant.

Drugstores offer a lot of condoms with special lubricant. For example spermicidal lubricant or lubes with special virus-killing effect. Lubricant containing nonoxinol 9 could irritate vagina or anus. Besides it, most people do not like its specific smell and taste.

Anesthetic lubricants (containing benzocaine) could help to prolong coitus due to anesthetic local effect which reduces man’s sensitivity.

Anal Lube For More Pleasure

June 19th, 2009 by Admin | No Comments | Filed in Lubes / Lubricants FAQ
Phoenix Delray asked:

Anal Lube is one of the most popular enhancers for sexual arousal and stimulation. Anyone who has ever tried inserting anything into the anus knows well that you have got to have lube to get up in there comfortably. Since the anus cannot lubricate itself, anal lube is the key to making anal sex more pleasurable. Without anal lube being applied on, around, and in the rectum and anus, things could start tearing and chafing and who knows what else.

There are many different kinds of anal lubes to experiment with. Water based lube is the safest lube for use in anal sex. It is very natural because of the water, and is also popular since many people find it to be non irritating. Another bonus for water based anal lube is that there are no chemicals to break down latex, which is good news for condom wearers. One word of caution, though, about the water based lubes, is that some women find that water based lubes made with glycerin or sugar can cause a yeast infection, especially if they are susceptible to the infections to begin with. Unfortunately, it is usually the flavored lubes that contain the sugar and glycerin, so be careful it is the flavored lubes that are NOT for use in the vagina or in the anus. One minor downfall of water based anal lube is that it can dry out more quickly than lubricants that are not water based, but keeping the bottle of lube nearby or using spit or another lube for anal sex can help keep the area that is being worked nice and moist.

Oil based lubes are not recommended for use with condoms, diaphragms, and sex toys. Oil based lubricants can break down latex and some plastics, so stay away from oil based lubes if you are using these birth control methods or even if you are not sure if it would be safe or not. The lube could also potentially ruin your fave latex and rubber toys, so it is simplest to just avoid these lubricants all together. Oil lubes are also frowned upon because the oil can coat the rectum or vagina and lead to a bacterial infection at the area.

Silicone based lubes are a newer kind of anal lube. They are safe to use with condoms and latex products, so your sex toys will stay safe when used with the silicone anal lube, for the most part. Use caution, though, if you have toys that are made of silicone. The lube could cause breakdown damage to your special toys. Silicone based lubes also last longer than water based lubes, not drying out nearly as quickly. However, the lube can be hard to wash off, and can still irritate a womans vagina, skin, and anus if it is left there for too long.

Almost any drug store or retail owner usually carries different types of anal lube. Feel free to experiment with the different kinds of lube available to find which one for which activity is best. It is a good idea, too, to test the anal lube on your skin to test for an allergic reaction to it or oversensitivity. And, one final word of caution, ladies: Make sure your partner knows that anything that has been in or near the anus, whether it is his penis or your vibrator, can NOT go into your vagina until it has been washed very well. Many people develop bad infections in the vagina after something went from the anus to the vagina, depositing plenty of germs there that dont belong. So keeping these things in mind, when you are ready to venture into the world of anal lube, you at least have a good start on deciding which one to try first.
