It has to be something discreet, short, no obvious sex words and easy to remember.

10 points for the best. Thanks a lot!
Just want to repeat–no obvious sex words. It also has to be something that people won’t have trouble spelling once they hear it. ebay, yahoo are all easy to spell so people remember it.

Yes, Adult Toys are Safe to Use

September 19th, 2009 by Admin | No Comments | Filed in Sex Toys General FAQ
Clint Jhonson asked:

Many people look for a 100% safety guarantee when using sex toys. For one thing, nothing can be 100% safe in this world – we are saying that with a reassuring smile, do not worry. It can only be as safe as you want and make it. Many people are worried that phthalates used to soften materials in certain adult toys could cause damage to their health. While certain toys do use phthalates, you have the alternative of buying, from any reliable sex shop, adult toys that are phthalate-free, as they are made of silicone or hard plastics.

In other words, do not let this misinformation spoil your mood for sex that includes adult toys. A dildo or a vibrator is not something indispensable for a great sex life – however, it can truly spice things up and it would be a shame to avoid the idea of buying a silicone dildo, for instance, simply because you have heard somewhere that all sex toys are damaging to your health. Silicone is one of the safest materials to use with adult toys. It is free of phthalates and it can be washed and sterilized easily.

Hard plastic is another type of material easy to wash, though not as easy to sterilize, since one cannot boil it. However, it does not contain phthalates, so do not let rumors turn you off when you consider buying hard plastic sex toys. Phthalates are included in toys that use rubber or jelly rubber, or in other such items that are fragranced. But then again, phthalates are used greatly in the cosmetic industry, so adult toys that contain such softeners are as safe as cosmetics are.

When you enter a sex shop, you enter a world of endless possibilities of sex fun. However, it is preferable that, while you let yourself carried away by the pleasurable things your imagination can conceive, you also remember safety. If you are allergic to latex, for instance, skip the area of sex toys that contain rubber – this is allergenic to sensitive persons such as you may be. Generally, manufacturers will display the percentage of rubber or silicone or hard plastic contained by the products they put on the market.

Undoubtedly, opting for the toys that are more expensive (generally those made from elastomers or silicone) are the safer choice. Hard plastic is also fairly safe, and it is more reasonably priced when you compare it against silicone-based products. Safety concerns should also be applied in the choice of lubes, for instance. Do not restrict your worries to a dildo or a vibrator, because lubricants, for our example, also go on your body and could have an impact on health, if you are allergic to some of their components.

The point is that, insofar as you take care of the acquired sex toys in the appropriate manner – safe use by applying a condom on a dildo, for example, or sterilization after use – you will be safe and feel wonderful. Let your partner know everything about what you intend to do, if you want to involve him or her as well in your sex toy activity. He or she must also feel comfortable with the idea of including adult toys in your sexual life.

To Lube or not to Lube!

September 15th, 2009 by Admin | No Comments | Filed in Lubes / Lubricants FAQ
Sam Gardam asked:

With so many products on the market what ones do you buy and what is the difference?

There are 2 main types of lubes: Water-based and Silicone Lube.

Water-based lubes are the popular. Traditionally these lubricants are recommended with condoms and won’t harm rubber or silicon adult toys. The main complaints with these lubes are they dry up too quickly and some times feel a bit sticky. The reason they dry up is because your body absorbs water. Re application may be needed during foreplay or intercourse.

If you are prone to getting yeast infection you may want to be careful when using these water-based products. Some of them contain Glycerin- glycerin is a kind of sugar… which can cause microbe growth and upset the pH of the vagina. Look for sugar-free flavored lubes, or Glycerin free and you should be fine. The clean up of toys and yourself is much easier, because of it being water-based.

Silicone Based Lubricants are great for any type of foreplay, sex play, also don’t forget about using it for great massages. This type of lubricant doesn’t get tacky; most of them are hypo-allergenic, paraben-free and glycerin-free. These lubes are not water-soluble and should not be used with Silicone adult toys! If you use silicone lube on a silicone toy, it can break down the outer material over time. If you adult toy is not silicone then you can use this product all night. Won’t harm metal or latex toys!! They are safe for any type of condoms; most condoms are pre-packaged with a silicone lube already. Silicone lube does not dry-up or evaporate, because there’s no water in it. It feels like oil but doesn’t contain oil. You should never use any type of oil based lubricant with toys that contain silicone, thermoplastic rubber, or latex condoms. Silicone lubes can use it in water or shower; this is great for your water-proof vibrators or dildos that aren’t silicone. You can purchase lubes with different scents. The clean up easy, just soap and water.

I hope this has helped you understand the use of lubricants a little better. What I recommend it that you purchase a trial size or 2oz bottle so you can see if you like it. There nothing worst than buying something in a large quantity and find out later you don’t like it. This may be a little more costly in the beginning, but you will find what works best for you and with which toy works better with the lube. Lubricants come in different textures and scents. Some lubes are very thin to extremely thick like jelly. Usually the thicker lubes are easier for anal play or with adult toys; this keeps the toys in place a bit better. While the thinner lubes are usually used to enhance your personal lubrication and it doesn’t feel like you are using lubrication.

Choosing an Adult Toys Shop

August 15th, 2009 by Admin | No Comments | Filed in Sex Toys General FAQ
Lea Mclarran asked:

Choosing an online retailer to buy from involves a decision making process, with several factors to consider. Whether it’s adult toys, or an iPod, you’ll have dozens of respected merchants to choose from online, all competing for your business!

If you are shopping for sex toys, one of the first things you’ll want to consider is shipping – will the merchant ship to your home? What are the shipping rates? Of course this all depends on where you live, and which shipping company the company uses. Most use USPS, FedEx or UPS. The most affordable option is usually the postal service.

Most adult toy retailers are choosing to ship their merchandise in plain white or brown boxes, with a company name that doesn’t give away the nature of the packages contents.

If you are ordering your sex toys from another country (say from the US going to Canada) there is a chance that your package might be opened by customs agents. If this happens, there’s a chance they will put a sticker on the package stating the contents. They can either be cool about this and put “spa supplies” or “therapeutic device” on the sticker, but beware, they might just mark the box “vibrators”.

The cost of the shipping might be the deciding factor in getting you to shop with a merchant, some offer free shipping as an added incentive to potential customers.

Free shipping is hard to turn down, but you may still want to shop around, since some retailers have huge profit margins compared to others. A frugal shopper would do well to hunt around and see who has the deals, and who’s just plain greedy.

If you compare prices, you might find a shop is cheaper to buy from, even if you have to pay for shipping. Visit a this sex toy price comparison site like Thrifty Adult to get an idea of the range you could pay for identical products, and you realize how important it is to shop around.

If you have adult toy shops in your town, you could call them up and compare prices, but most carry a fairly small line of sex toys, making comparison difficult, and usually the prices are high.

The great thing is that a thrifty and diligent shopper can do all this comparison shopping from your computer, you don’t have to drive around or get on the phone to chase down savings.

Reasons for price disparity are commonly the buying power of a merchant, and other business factors, like overhead.

The expertise, advice and information that some shops claim to provide as a value added bonus can be had readily from many sites that are easily accessible on the internet, so there’s no need to pay a premium, just educate yourself!

Most “sex experts” or sexologists have no degree or training, and it’s not like the subject matter is difficult for the average person to learn.

Some shops specialize in one type of product, for example Womynsware sells mostly high-end Tantus silicone sex toys, and caters to women, but their prices are higher than average.

Another well known store is Toys in Babeland – they have a “sex positive” feminist theme, but they are also happy to charge their fellow females some of the highest prices anywhere.

Some shops try to sell you on how hip and cool they are, others just offer the sterile equivalent of a catalog, with less fluff and lower prices.

Ultimately, it’s up to the consumer to choose which is more important.

Happy Shopping! – Lea

How to Introduce Adult Sex Toys Into Your Relationship

August 2nd, 2009 by Admin | No Comments | Filed in Sex Toys General FAQ
Eddie Yakubovich asked:

If you don’t already know by now, all kinds of sex toys, especially dildos and vibrators feel really good. You think that just by saying that that it’s enough to convince couples that incorporating sex toys into their love making is all the thought you could ever need.

Think again. People still do feel a bit uncomfortable, embarrassed, and are not as liberal as they think they are when you try to talk about sex toys of any kind. Men like to see their partner experiencing an orgasm.

There is usually one person in a relationship that is more open-minded and adventuresome than the other person. That’s the person that wants to play sex toys. This is usually the male. It doesn’t matter is your straight or gay. Men know that for a woman to reach an orgasm and multiple times it takes work.

First and foremost, my advise has always been never just surprise your partner with a vibrator, dildo of any shape or size without feeling him or her out first on how receptive they are to trying one. If you think that your partner is more into liking surprises then by all means bring one home and slip in where ever is most pleasing.

Secondly, make sure your partner understands that incorporating sex toys into your relationship doesn’t make you weird or perverted at all. Many kinds of people that you and I would consider normal really do use sex toys. It’s a fact that sex toys enhance an orgasm or better yet, make you have one.

Finally, if your partner is still uncomfortable about using sex toys have her do some research about the topic on the internet or even talk about it with someone she or he trusts. Most couples are usually in their mid 20’s before they become curious enough to begin the venture.

Sometimes it can be helpful to arouse your partner first by watching a mild erotic video or read erotic books together to start the mood going. Tell your partner that all you want to do is please her even more. By your partner feeling confident that it has absolutely nothing to do with them and their love making techniques you can feel a bit more secure and go with something different.

With sex toys of all kinds, the fact of the matter is, it is less work for you. Now keep in mind that it doesn’t make you a sexual freak or masturbator in any way. It’s really all about enhancing sensations and the only way to do that is through something that vibrates.
