she needs to be trained.
Cat is showing her displeasure that you got New Cat and is taking revenge on you. New Cat has to go because Cat owns you and will not stand having New Cat in the same house.
Just wait until Cat starts peeing on the kitchen countertop and all over the stove… marking territory
I suggest you stop being so dam mean to your cat. and your wife is horrible rubbing her poor little nose in it. Have you ever wounder that maybe she is ill, or scared of the other cat think. you evil people.
Then punish it, or tie it to something off the carpet and to solve the poop part just make it constipated.
I would take it to the vet-it might be behavorial or a tract infection-make sure the litter is clean on a daily basis this could also be the problem. Do you have one or two litter pans – each cat should have the own they don’t like to share.
Marking territory her home has been invading by an other cat. The things that you are doing are cruel and will only make the problem worse. The cat is probably feeling threatened and scared as they are naturally solitary creatures. Maybe you should have learned a little about cats before you decided to keep them as pets. Anyway try spraying a mixture of citronella (cats hate the smell and the idea is it is like you marking the spot as your territory) and water on the places it is happening……only a few drops of citronella in need in the mix.
Why would you guys rub her nose in it?? I don’t even want to know what else has been done *_*. Anyway’s I think maybe she is feeling left out or something since you have a new animal in the house. I don’t know?
I can’t take your pet though….I’m having trouble with my own pets lol
She is marking her territory because she is feeling threatened by the presence of the other cat. Cats can be jealous like people and they do things to show their discontent. Get her fixed and that should help, if she is already fixed then separate them and gradually introduce them back together. She has been queen of the house for a long time and now you brought in a princess to replace her and she is feeling the tensions and pressures and taking it out on her human parents.
She Does not like the new cat for what ever reasean. you might have to give the new cat away.

My husband and I have 5 cats. He had two I had one then we took in two strays we could not resist. Some of the cats now live in cages when we can not supervise them. I know it sounds creul but it is much better than ruined carpet, furniture and rugs. The cats actually seem more content to have their own space. It also has improved their behavior. When we are home they are free to explore the house when we are not they live in their cages and so their business in there, Petsmart sells cat cages. They are about $130 but cheaper then new carpet!
The rule of cat is that you should have one more litter box then you do cat! So, you should have three litterboxes, some cats don’t like to use the same litterbox as another cat, even going so far as to get close to “their” litter box, but going on the floor, or whatever happens to be closest at the time…..I would sugguest getting a second litter box and seeing if that helps! If not, why find a home for the older cat, it’s not her fault that she’s so spoiled that she can’t or won’t accept another cat into your household…that just isn’t fair!
I guess you should have done a test run first huh?
Did ya get her her OWN litter pan? Ever wannna use the toilet after someone else has and not flushed???
DON’T RUB HER NOSE IN IT she’ll hate you forever & it’s abusive.
You need two more litter boxes, placed in different areas.
Keep boxes clean- twice a day cleaning.
If there is a lid on your current box, remove it since she may want to be able to see if other cat’s around before she “goes”.
Please get a couple more boxes and watch to make sure she’s not getting “ambushed” by the other cat when leaving the box. Is she “fixed” and more importantly is the new cat ‘fixed’? “Fixed” cats can have a real problem with a cat who isn’t fixed. It’s a territory thing. If new cat isn’t fixed it’s time. The feliway plug- in works to calm but what she’s doing is more of a protest thing.
When cats stop using their litter box they are trying to tell you that something is wrong. If she hasn’t been seen by a vet, then it might be worth taking her for a check up just to ensure that there are no underlying health problems.
Please never physically punish or scold a cat for inappropriate toileting. She won’t understand that you are upset because she went in the wrong place. She will simply think that you are being mean to her for the act itself. Rubbing her nose in it is cruel and will only make her fear you and feel more insecure.
Cats are highly territorial by nature. Never underestimate just how much it means to them. It is the source of food, shelter and love, which is why some cats feel very threatened by a newcomer .
Is the litter tray kept thoroughly clean? If the cats are tolerant of each other, you can try providing each of them with their own litter box, as she may not like sharing. The web sites below offer further advice on why cats stop using their litter box and how to resolve the problem.
You don’t mention any details about the second cat or how they get on with each other. The introduction of a new cat always be done carefully and slowly. Just in case your female hasn’t fully accepted your new cat, you may need to separate them and reintroduce them. The web sites below will offer advice on how to do this, and how to have harmony in a multi-cat household.
Please be patient with your cat. She is probably feeling miserable and unloved at the moment, but with your help, this problem can be resolved.
Good luck.
