Because he’s insecure and immature. Dump him. A good man will enjoy a toy with you and realize you are trying to have fun with him, not replace him. Dump him.
It is none of his business. You should never have asked his permission. It is your body!! He sounds like a controlling, insecure jerk. You need to set him straight or dump him asap.
For some reason some guys are jealous because maybe it’s “bigger” than him or a different color than what it should be in his mind. Listen, what you want to do is totally normal & great! You don’t need is permission, you don’t even have to tell him. Now, if he asks, say yes, always be truthful. Just because you have a toy and he doesn’t, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t. It can be fairly common for younger men to feel threatened by the use of toys, not to say that some older men do not feel uncomfortable with the thought either. Many times it’s “how” they are brought up that can set a significant other “off”. Considering you have already let the cat out of the bag so to speak you can’t go back and try that conversation again
You have two things you can do here. Since I would assume you’re over 18 you can purchase the toy yourself. Depending on where you live you can find a local sex toy shop or you can shop online. You would then be hiding your purchase from him of course so if he ever found your toy it could spark an argument.
Personally in any relationship I find that communication is the best way to prevent any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. I would suggest trying the conversation again except perhaps bring up the subject of using toys with each other. Start out small perhaps some massage oils, feathers, et cetera. If he is open to this browse a catalog of toys together. If he is still adamant that he is against toys and will not give you a valid reason why then I would say he has some communication issues and you may be better off getting one yourself or moving on.
