Missouri is a fundamentalist state in the main.
Since fundamentalists cannot say- sex or even think it, you can refer to them as adult novelties and the fundies will pretend they don’t know what it means.
It’s sorta like it was here in West Michigan years ago.
People did not have sex standing up because the fundies would think they were dancing and dancing was not nice.

I live in Missouri and, believe me, it is 100% legal to sell sex toys here. There are many stores like Priscilla’s and Satin Dolls that sell sex toys. Also there is a big amount of traveling “Passion Parties” where you can buy sex toys. Yes Missouri has its share of prudes and fundies, but in the bigger cities there are places that are more loose, free and teaming with “playgirls” and “playboys”. Keep in mind KC and STL were stops in the Wild West basically a few shops, saloons and a lot of brothels. Also…ironically in the so-called “religious strongholds” in outstate Missouri, some of the biggest stores that ppl drive for miles to get to are the liquor stores and the sex stores, lol.
